When asked the main quality needed by an artist, I would straight away say, its consistent hard work. Without hard work, talent is not enough- Henri Matisse
About the artist
I’m Philip, I’m 15 and currently studying for my GCSEs. I’ve just completed my Art GCSE a year early and am hopefully going to do another next year.
I've been drawing since about the age of 5 and I don't think there's been a day where I've not picked up a pen or pencil.
Lately I've been mostly drawing animals but there’s something about comic art that I just love, the stories behind them and their iconic characters make them enjoyable to read and to draw.
My favourite medium to work with is coloured pencil on coloured paper, its fun to do and extremely satisfying for me to see the finished product. I also use other mediums including watercolour, acrylic, pen, ink and graphite
I'm hoping that when I leave school I’ll go on to college and try out Graphic Design. I’d love to be either a Graphic Designer or an Illustrator for children's books.
I'm exhibiting some of my work in a gallery for the very first time, I'm really looking forward to where my art will take me...
