24th October- 31st October 2015 Sit and Fidget Open Art Exhibition at the Forum (Library)

I exhibited ‘Miss Simone’ and my ‘Ian McKellen” portrait in a local Art Exhibition at my local Library alongside some very talented under 18’s.

9th July -10th July 2015 Origins II Exhibition (Chelsea College of Arts)

After passing my first year of my Art and Design Course with a Distinction, my tutor put me forward for the UAL Awarding body 'Oustanding work' Exhibition (Origins II at Chelsea College of Arts London).  20,000 students were entered and I along with 5 other students from the Art Department at South Essex College made it down to the last 100.  Although I did not win the overall prize, I am extremely  happy and grateful that I made it that far.

The Exhibiton was full of some quite frankly amazing work! The work showcased was all done by students studying at pre-degree level.  It was really interesting to see other students' work as it gives an insight into how they think and create. I left the gallery inspired and mentally prepared for year two of my course (Level 3 General Art and Design).

1st October- 18th October 2014 Exhibiting at the Forum (Library)

I entered my work to be exhibited at the Forum just because it was a nice space to show my off my work, however I did not know that it was being judged and that there would be a first place. Much to my surprise I was awarded 'Best Picture’. This is a great honour as there were so many fantastic artists exhibiting.

"Congratulations to Phillip Douglas one of our youngest winners of the SOSAC Visual Arts Exhibition aged 16 with his beautiful impression of Robin Williams on display at the exhibition in the Forum, Southend until Tues 18th November” -Steve McCartney

16th June - 9th August 2014 Exhibiting at the Royal Academy of Arts

I entered the BBC One Show Art Competition 2014 for 17's and under. I unfortunately did not get through to the final round, however my entry (the chimpanzee) was exhibited at the Royal Academy of Art in London. This was a great honour to have my work exhibited there and an experience I will never forget.

1st May- 31st May 2013 Exhibiting at WOA (Work of Art Gallery)

This was my first time exhibiting in a public place, so as you can imagine, it was super nerve-racking and exciting all at the same time. It felt a little like I was jumping in at the deep end.  I had to speak to people who I’d never met before about my work aswell as theirs. I had to hold my own, show off what I could do. It was an amazing experience and through doing it I have made some great contacts and met some awesome people.
